Founded in 2009.The Museum’s basis is a collection of the best works of the Azerbaijani avant-garde, from the mid-twentieth century until now. The collection, encompassing painting and sculpture, reflects aspiration, striving and freedom of the human soul.
The museum contains over 800 works by notable Azerbaijani painters
and sculptors, particularly avant garde art of the 1960s and 1970s.
